NGP specs reduced to half ?

Latest rumors pointing to the NGP specs have been halved. The 512 MB ram reduced to 256 memory. And the visual engine memory reduced to 128 MB.
Every time Sony loses to Nintendo in the console pricing war. The past events are the evidences for this. When PS3 released, the sales graph gone downward uniformly. But after some price drop and bundle pack introduction it is came back on the top. Sony learned its lesson. People are looking for great features in an affordable price range. 3DS is launched with a price tag of $250 which is very affordable.

What will happen NGP launch with a price tag of $500?
You can buy Xbox 360, wii or ps3 with $500. No one is going to buy a handheld for that price in this world economy except a few people.
What about $400?
Still it is not a good price for ngp. A new console with price tag $250 has been already launched. To compete with that price tag you have offer the console for that price or less than that console.
My suggestion
$ 265 for NGP is an excellent price tag. But due to electronic parts and great features of NGP, that price tag is not going to happened. So the best option is to half the specs. It may affect some performance issues. But we are not experienced the features of ngp. So we will say “Wow! This device is powerful and affordable” because we don’t know what is dropped so far.

Sony responded to the ngp downgraded rumor and they said don't believe everything you read on internet. So, i'm assuming this story is fake.
